Some sequels strive to be better than its predecessor.  Most come up empty and are seen as a cash grab for what they are.  'Zombieland: Double Tap' is a solid movie.  Great for wasting an afternoon on a rainy day or good horror/comedy with a partner for a good ol' night in on the couch.

By solid I mean that the movie does not veer off too much from the first movie.  There are some slight changes to its universe such as varying degrees of zombies and the character themselves have began to settle into roles of a family.  Each of the actors pulls this off well, giving us just enough to show which role they play.  The sarcasm and snarkiness is still there as well as the gore and fun kills.  My favorite being the Zombie Kill of the Year.  We get to meet some new survivors as well as a whole colony of pacifists.

This movie and its theme of family plays up well with how our world has been turned upside down during these days of Quarantine 2020.  If one looked closely and analyzed such themes, that person could derive that our roles in family are constantly in flux as the outside world shapes the family dynamic.

But I'd rather just watch it for the zombies and the humor ;)  Be sure to watch past the credits for a hilarious Bill Murray cameo.

Final Score: 7/10

No Showtime Sunday as I had a rare chance to talk with some good friends.  Netflix Monday is The Green Hornet from 2011.
